Appoint Secretaries To Comittees And Recruit Members Of The Committees To Allow Them To Operate

The President of the UGSRC should as a matter of concern appoint secretaries to the various commitees to permit them to work and function effectively and efficiently. There has been a decline in the coefficiency of the committees owing to the outstanding appointment of secretaries to the standing and adhoc committees of the UGSRC to aid in the drafting, planning, and writing of minutes, and taking records of the commitees. After frantic and dramatic swift of the assignment of Committee heads, no single person has been appointed to serve as a member on any of the substantive committee which leaves much to be questioned. The engagements of committee heads did not necessarily mean a committee had been established. The non existence of committees is worrying, disturbing and unwararranting. The President in Consultation with the Vice President and the General Secretary should masterbate and charge themselves with the appoint of the secretaries, and so direct the appropriate quarters to recruit, nominate, vet and appoint students to serve on the committees and occupy such positions as they deem fit to help the SRC in the discharge of its responsibilitres. Is to my utter suprise and amazement to observe the appointment of students still ogoing in the second semester, especially when SRC elections is forthcoming, and aspirants are campaigning massively for votes and supports. It is very jovial and perhaps lackadaiscal approach by the SRC to hide on the back of this to fail on its promises by virtue of the out of court settlement that characterised and followed the court procedures. Arbitration had been done and there is no time to wasthe. The setting up of committees is equally important as the setting up of committee to investigate the previous administration. However, I task the next aadministration to probe the incumbent administration in the future to accentuate and substantiate their claims of accountability and transparency since he who calls for equity must come with clean hands. I can vouch for the hard work of this administraction, and living up to the mark, but, for the purposes of accountability and transparency I may not. Master Asumadu and Master Ndwukwe should be put this at the back of their mind that at the end of their tenure they would be put to the litmus test to assess their integrity and loyalty to the general student populace.
I commend the Prince and Wisdom administration for advocating for the absorption of law students hostel fees during the vacation, and the subsequent intervention by footing the bills of Differently Abled Students. In fact, it is highly commendable, much to be desired and of priority to the beneficiaries.

JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA HAD RETORTED

President John Dramani Mahama had made a proclamation on his intention to be a party agent at his polling station in the forthcoming 2024 general elections, which comes after his recent pronouncement. He made this profound statement to buttress his stance on his recent pronouncement that, the 2024 general elections are going to be ‘Do or die'. He had declared his stance that this does not translate into ‘All die be die', as the incumbent president, President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo,  made us believe in the run-up to the 2016 general elections. The rank and file of his party and scores of Ghanaians had commended him for affirming his stance and taking steps to prevent possible rig of the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.  He had condemned what he for seen as bias on the part of the Supreme Court in manipulating the ruling of the 2020 petition he filed against the Electoral Commission. He had assured that he would not resort to the court for redr...

UGSRC PREZ MEETS PARLIAMENTARY SELECT COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION

The Parliamentary Select Committee on Education has scheduled a meeting with the Vice Chancellor, and GRASAG President, GTEC among others addressed to the office of the UGSRC President. The meeting is scheduled for discussing the astronomical increase in academic fees. The recent pressure mounted on management and the council of the university for a reduction in fees by concerned students of the university. Ghana Tertiary Education Commission issued a warning to all tertiary institutions not to charge above the 15% threshold approved by parliament. The National Union of Ghana 🇬🇭 Schools, Dennis Appiah Larbi petitioned the House of Representatives and GTEC and the heads of institutions concerned. The University of Ghana claimed that the school did not increase fees during the apex of COVID, and did the same the previous year. We are very much optimistic that the decision would be favorable and sympathize with the students. Education we believe is a right, not a privilege. Education i...

You Spoke Out Of Sheer Arrogance & Ignorance Abigail Elorm Akwambia

The Indefatigable Deputy National Women Organizer of the National Democratic Congress, Abigail Elorm Akwambia, with the prospect of forming government in 2025 has taken a swipe, slam and call on the bluff of the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East,Hawa Koomson who happens to be the then Minister for Special Initiative and the incumbent minister for Fishries and Acqua-Culture. In the presser the Deputy Women Organiser admitted that this has been the routine behaviour of Hawa Koomson and his NPP apparatchiks; only adds up to his earlier unsavoury remarks about the youth and netizens, and addressed her as dishonourable Member of Parliament. She lamented that the dishourable MP should have admonish the plight of the ordinary Ghanaian, that was least expected of her. She also consoled the teeming unemployed youth to acknowledge the 24 hour economy proposed by John Mahama and the NDC and urged them to be calm as the next NDC government will seek their interest and ddress their need...
