Petition Seeking for Extension in Academics Unnecessary; What is needed by students is accomodation

Following a petition by Master Rahman Yusif, Deputy Academic Affairs Committee Head who doubles as the candidate for Elizabeth Francis Sey Hall JCR Presidential position to the UGSRC, copied to the President asked for an immediate intervention for an extension of teaching and learning. The petition was delayed, it supposed to have come earlier than before. I am of the firm conviction that the petition was motivated by his desire to contest for the JCR Presidential position. The students believe that having been mandated as the Deputy Academic Affairs Head, the Academic Affairs should have come out with a communique rather seeking to provide the road map and pragmatic steps through the Committee by the UGSRC, intervening on behalf of students to the Accademic Affairs. we took notice of the UGSRC's communique appended by the president and copied the Speaker of General Assembly and Radio Univers. The release informed the petitioner that the UGSRC had already taken notice of the situation and were taking steps to address the situation. Despite the fact that this administation had been embattled for quite some time through court processes and procedures, that does not warrant them to fail us, while reneginging on its promise to put up the SRC STUDENTS HOSTEL. My encounter with the SRC President, I querried him on the UGSRC STUDENTS HOSTEL AND OFFICE COMPLEX, he narrated to me his resolve to hasten the establishment as soon as possible, his suggestions to me to help him accomplish his dreams. It seams it has escaped him or he has forgotten so soon. I would like to remind Master Prince Asumadu and his Vice Ptesident, Master Wisdom Ndukwe and the Project and Programmes Committee Head Master Aikins Opoku to hurriedly commence procurement processes to facilitate the establishment of the facilities; including the design, architecture and planning. He should present it to the Executive Committee EXECOM for deliberation and onward submission to the General Assembly for ratification. Moreover the water crises is also one that attracts and needs much attention. The various halls faces water shortages and students encounter a myriad of problems including delays at the lecture halls among several others. Topical is the issue of personal hygiene which make it difficult for students to observe personal hygiene. Hygienic conditions are paramount to the students. The SRC should write to the University Management of their decision harbored and asked them of thir support. You should apply for sponsorships from corporate organisations for suport and assistance. The UGSRC could consult the various stakeholders and intelligent students if they need assistance on how to roll on the project. We are ready to offer our cooperation, direction and guidance. First of all, let me on behalf of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network, polling agents and party foot soldiers and the grassroots thank you for your support, guindance and direction, most essentially those you foot their bills and pay thier fees. They are extremely grateful and proud of you. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that, numerous others; including myself had fulfilled our obligations or responsibilities as National Service Personnel, and we look forward to be engaged in order to contribute our quotas to nation building and development. You are one of the few Chief Executive Officers who understands the importance of deployment of the youth in public service, that is in line with the core vision of John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress. I urge you to consider most of our grassroots who are frustrated and stranded as a result of consequential unemployment issu...

SARBANDANLS RESIDENTIAL BROUHAHA A LITMUS TEST ON BOAKYE-LINCOLN ADMINISTRATION

The recent publication by the University of Ghana Management about the transfer of Male continuing students of the two noble traditional halls; Mensh Sarbah and Common Wealth Halls from their legal accommodations or beds is an experiment on the fresh administration of the University of Ghana Students' Representative Council. It is, however, imperative for the UGSRC to petition management to intercede on behalf of the affected male students of Mensah Sarbah and Commonwealth halls to stop this unfair treatment which is casting a doubt on their rights if indeed the Boakye-Lincoln led governance is for the interest of students, but not, the purported selfie government of the University of Ghana 🇬🇭 student leadership Aki Ola Aziz, former Special Envoy to the Office of the 64th SRC President is making a clarion call for Boakye -Lincoln administration to intervene on behalf of students to remedy this situation and champion the interest of the general student population. source: Wh...
