UGSRC PREZ MEETS PARLIAMENTARY SELECT COMMITTEE ON EDUCATION

The Parliamentary Select Committee on Education has scheduled a meeting with the Vice Chancellor, and GRASAG President, GTEC among others addressed to the office of the UGSRC President. The meeting is scheduled for discussing the astronomical increase in academic fees. The recent pressure mounted on management and the council of the university for a reduction in fees by concerned students of the university. Ghana Tertiary Education Commission issued a warning to all tertiary institutions not to charge above the 15% threshold approved by parliament. The National Union of Ghana 🇬🇭 Schools, Dennis Appiah Larbi petitioned the House of Representatives and GTEC and the heads of institutions concerned. The University of Ghana claimed that the school did not increase fees during the apex of COVID, and did the same the previous year.
