​ Presidential hopeful for UGSRC celebrates his birthday today. Samuel Ackom is an indefatigable personnality and one of the topmost students on campus. He is a proud member of the University of Ghana Parliament House and the POSSA Parliament. He is prominent figure in the UGSRC, the 64th Administration led by the Asumadu-Ndukwe.  He is the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the UG-SRC. He is currently Pursuing Political Science and Linguistics at the Premier University.  Samuel  Ackom is contesting for the pisition of SRC President, and he is aspiring to be the 65th SRC Ptesident of the Premier University, University of Ghana, Legon. He is also part of the Minority leadership of the POSSA Parliament and UGPH Parliament, and a Member of the SRC General Assembly(UGSRC Parliament).  The University of Ghana General Assembly, Premier University wishes you well in all your endeavours! The General Assembly Speaker of the University of Ghana students' Representative Council, Rt. Hon. Stephen Awuah Pobi had wispered into the ears of the Whistleblower that, the Assembly is poised to ensure free, fair and transparent elections. He said that the General Assembly will amend the C.I passed by the August Assembly in the interest of the general student body. He believes that it will contribute to the transparency of the electoral process and complement the procedures laid down bu the UGSRC Electoral Commission. However, after the General Assembly set ablaze during the sitting to amend the Constitutional Instrument concerning whether to include a third-party to supplement the works of UGCS is not yet resolved and concluded. The Electoral Commission had anengagement woth the public few weeks and had issued a communique to that effect and the condictiom of the election after the second semester examinations.

This year's UGSRC Treasurer position is the face of the UGSRC elections. The postion is keenly contested by Edward Owusu Boateng popularly known as Gadaffi and Michael Kuti famously called IMF. The race is a heated one of a kind within a decade. Few minutes before Kuti was leading Boateng, however the latter has regain votes to catch up with the former. Per polls conducted by Radio Univers on twitter and links for voting shared on various social media platforms, the votes of the two candidates have broken even, with both candidates securing 50%. The General Secretary Hopeful for the Student Representative Council, Ernestina Mahama is leading two online polls in the recently conducted polls by the Voice of Legon on Twitter and Pollie an online polling app. According to reports, she is leading with 40% of ballot casts in her favour. She is followed by Emmanuella Boakye Yiadom with 38%, Vida Minta with 16% and Diana Berma with 11%. She won the other poll with 37% ahead of her contenders The students chose Ernestina Mahama, Everyone says Mahama is hopeful to win with a landslide margin for the General Secretary Position. Ernestina Mahama who is the outgoing General Secretary for Hilla Limman Hall is No.3 on the ticket of the SRC General Secretary portfolio. She has the blessing of the General student populace. She has proven herself beyond every reasonable doubt that she can deliver. She has been in the news by Joy News Journalists to be related in one way or the other to President John Mahama. The University of Ghana 🇬🇭 Students Representative Council is organizing an event dubbed 'SRC Day With The VC' The programme kicks start on Fflriday 2nd August, 2022 @theCedi Conference Centre @2:30PM prompt. The Students and the general public ate all invited. Item 13 is massively assured.

In the late hours of Saturday,27th August 2022 at 11.30pm vetting of UGSRC hopefuls were vetted. Vetting of candidates commenced from the treasurer portforlio through to Secretary to the presidential. Edward was the First candidate to pass through the vetting followed by Michael Kuti a.k.a IMF. Then proceeded to the general secretary portfolio with Emmanuella Boakyewa with much precision, Vida Minta with over confidence, Ernestona Mahama walked in gorgeously and modestly with much enthusiasm. Diana Ohene Berma storming in with a music Box playing Diana ooo Diana ooo who sat for barely 10 mins less than her contenders. Beauty who was supposed to have been the last, we were told had written to the vetting panel to recuse herself from the vetting. The presidential race saw Noah and Ambrose being first on the list,then Lincoln and Boakye,followed by Ackom and Ramzy, proceded by Curtis and Linda, and ended with Graham and Paa Kwesi. On behalf of the UGSRC, there will be a security conference on the theme "The Emerging Terrorism Alerts in the Subsaharan Africa, The role of the University student. The event will commence within a timely hours of 8:00 AM today, Friday 26th August, 2022. The SRC is inviting all members of the un9versity to attend this programme.

The Vice Chancellor of the Premier University in the nation has fulfilled her promise of the 1Student 1Laptop policy popularly known as the 1L1S Policy, as part of her wish to provide students who cannot afford one or are unable to purchase one for their studies. The VC had vowed in the previous year to fulfil this promise. Today marks the commencement of the project, and hundreds of laptops will be distributed to students who had demonstrated that they need that electronic gadget for academic and research purposes Students, with the inclusion of awardees, will assemble at the Cedi Conference today, Thursday,25th August 2022 for the occasion10:00AM. All students are invited.

UGSRC in connection with Drug Net is organizing a seminar on"Ask Your Pharmacist" on Wednesday 27th July, 2022 @10AM- 11AM @the UGSRC Union Building. The seminar focuses on Sexually transmitted infections, particularly HIV/AIDS. The media partners to broadcast the event are TV3, ETV, GH ONE & Happy Fm. Information Reaching the whistle Blower and Walking Encyclopedia 360's is that wifi connectivity is irregular, unreliable, and insufficient. Residents have whispered to the Whistleblower about the bad internet connectivity as a result of unreliable for students to use. The student of the Jubilee Hall to be specific has approached us to inform us about the lack of leadership displayed by the incumbent President of Jubilee and International Hostels, Bright Amansiah. Student activists in the hall have complained bitterly about the irreproachable attitude of the JCR President and his relentless effort not to take the matter up to the appropriate authorities to fix the problem. They have lamented about his showcase of complacency and unattended behavior. They are appealing to the UGSRC to come to their aid to have this problem resolved. "I believe in the leadership of the UGSRC, especially the President and his Vice", an anonymous student commented. Another student said,

Hon. Dauda Bawa, deputy organizer for UG-TEIN had won primaries in the just-ended contests and contests further to become an MP for Ahafo North as a Youth MP. Bawa is well known by students as the most successful convenor of tutorials on campus. And it is one of the most patronized tutorials The parliamentary primaries were conducted by the Youth in Leadership parliament. He is poised to win the Parliamentary elections. He had the opportunity to speak on issues about the Local Government Ministry. In his utterances, he spoke about one of the profound and professional District Chief Executive and Minister for Local Government. He lamented that Oppong Fosu is the most outspoken and best District Chief Executive and Minister of Local Government.

Master Aikins Opoku who is currently serving as Head of the Programs and Projects Committee of the UGSRC had been charged as Chairman of the Board of the UGSRC Vetting Panel. He was appointed by the General Assembly to constitute the vetting Committee for the forthcoming SRC elections. The members of the Panel are Aikins Opoku- Chairman, Comfort Owusuwaa Appiah Secretary, Nana Yaw Okyere Member, Comfort Abban Member, Agyenim Boateng Member, Daniel Owusu Frimpong Member and Desmond Buabeng Member. The seven-Member Committee will perform the function of vetting aspirants who will be vying for the various positions that will be advertise by the Office of te Electoral Commission. The interesting thing is that all the members of the Vetting Committee are serving on the executive organogram of the SRC under the watch of Asumadu-Ndukwe led governance.
