The 24 Hour Economy Proposed by Mahama; NPP's Headache

The much talk-about proposed policy initiative, the 24 hour economy is the order of the day, and it looks as if is a headache for the rulling New Patriotic party and governemnt. The rank and file of the party wakes up every blessed day to propagate about the policy. The Presidential Candidate and Flagbearer who happens to be the Second Gentleman, H.E Dr. Mahamoud Bawumia of this country has been in oppostion to this initiative. Ministers of State, Members of Parliament for the rulling NPP, Ambassadors, High Commissioners had also spoken in negation to the 24 hour Ecomomy. Scores of party executives and members of the rulling party and government had portrayed same with the fear of losing to the opposition National Democratic Congress, the NDC. With few of thier Members, particularly, Honourable Ekow Asafua admitting that if the NDC is able to communicate the policy well to Ghanaians they will purchase or buy into that idea. The 24 Hour Economy, if implemented, when the the NDC assumes power and takes the reigns of government will be the super social intervention ever implemented by any government in the history of Ghana, especially the 4th Republic Democratic dispensation. The NDC had introduced policy interventions projects like the GETFUND, establishment of Tertiary institutions, i e. universities ( UHAS Mines, Sustainable Development) Day Community Senior High Schools, numerous road networks and railways, Potable drinking water and hospitals, and topmost was the Progressively Free senior High School Education which served as the pilot project for the Free Senior High School. The 24 Hour Economy is a social intervention program that would allow institutions, public and private institutions, industries, commercial, transport, manufacturing, extraction industries and financial services and other sectors to operate within 24 hours. It incorporates 8 hour shifts 3 times a day. Presuming to be 24/7. It is going to incorporate sectors that provide sevices 24/7 such as the health sector and filling stations. However, It is going to be grounded on subscriptions, so companies that intends to operate within the 24 hour economy needs to suscribe to it in order to enjoy its benefits of tax exemptions , security, reduced tariffs, and safety measures that accompany it. Without much, the policy has become the talk of the day, and dear to the heart of the Flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama who is the brain behind that proposed Social intervetion and safety net. The policy is intended to provide and secure job for the 30 million plus Ghanains to be gainfully employed, the young or youth and aged, male and female. Thanks to the Presidential Candidate and former President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and the entire leadership and membership for lauching the 24 hour economy, a job hub for the entire populace, and bringing to bear thier rich experience and expertice to reduce if not eliminate unemployment situations or conditions that bedevil the country and to improve the standard of living of Ghanaians. _Press Release_ _*Educate Africa Institute; EAI*_ 10th October, 2022. *The NCA must take proactive measures because some media outlets continue to air unethical and unlawful programs on their shows. - S.K OFORI; EAI Political Analyst* The eleven-year-old boy's death in Kasoa, where his pals planned to sacrifice him for money rituals, was the catalyst for the national media commission's and national communication authority decision to sanitize the media community, which took place just one and a half years earlier. The NCA's decision to revoke the licenses of media outlets transmitting unethical programs was praised by many. It seems, however, that the NCA took such steps in response to the death of the eleven-year-old child who was murdered by his peers under the influence of a mallam. The media outlets whose licenses were eventually restored after negotiations with the national communications authority. After the NCA restoring the license of the affected media outlets, so...
