*The NCA must take proactive measures because some media outlets continue to air unethical and unlawful programs on their shows. - S.K OFORI; EAI Political Analyst*

The eleven-year-old boy's death in Kasoa, where his pals planned to sacrifice him for money rituals, was the catalyst for the national media commission's and national communication authority decision to sanitize the media community, which took place just one and a half years earlier. The NCA's decision to revoke the licenses of media outlets transmitting unethical programs was praised by many. It seems, however, that the NCA took such steps in response to the death of the eleven-year-old child who was murdered by his peers under the influence of a mallam.

The media outlets whose licenses were eventually restored after negotiations with the national communications authority. After the NCA restoring the license of the affected media outlets, some continuously airing those unlawful and unethical programs, including playing gramophone films and enabling bogus juju men to deceive the public.

Our research reveals that several owners of those media stations whose licenses were suspended by the NCA have opened additional media outlets and are functioning illegally. Some of them have also changed the station's branding, giving it a new name and logo.

We urge the NCA to take more preventative measures since, as the phrase goes, "prevention is better than cure."  The NCA should stop these media outlets' immoral and criminal behavior before it leads to unpleasant circumstances.

The NCA needs to take swift action to clean up the media community and ensure that any media outlet who engage in unethical behavior and offensive programming face consequences. The NCA should also establish regulations to ensure that media station activities are carried out appropriately and strictly adhered to.

Finally, given that the NCA has paid less attention to those local media outlets, our findings also indicated that the NCA ought to keep a close check on how those outlets function, those local media outlets have complete control over community opinion.

We believe that, the media is the most potent force on earth. They have the ability to falsely accuse the innocent and exonerate the guilty. And whoever controls the media also controls people's minds, particularly young people. We are in grave danger if the media continues to display or broadcast information that will severely corrode the public's mentality.

Let's band together to create a powerful and moral media fraternity to aid in the development of our country.

AN OPEN LETTER TO KOKU ANYIDOHO

Good-day! Anyidoho, Koku I communicate to you to halt your open and bitter resentment towards the gentle and affable persona and former first gentleman of the land, John Dramani Mahama. You claim to be an ardent and proponent of social democracy and associate of tge left-wing reactionary socialist ideology. We admonished your selfless service to the office of the former President, the late H.E John Evans Atta Mills as the Director of Communications, and your subsequent election as the Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress. This could have prefrerably shaped you and made you the General Secretary of the NDC. You fought well in the contest between you and the National Chairman of the party. The previous elections would have forsaw your leadership as General Secretary. You remember when the NPP, through their surrogates arrested you and put in the CID cells. He was the one who came and granted you bail and walked with you as triumph victory over them; your pur...

Where did we go wrong as students of the 21st century Ghana 🇬🇭?

Where did we go wrong as students of the 21st century in Ghana 🇬🇭? In the last 3 to 5 decades, we had student leadership strong as the hippo, brave as the lion and wise as the parrot which was vocal, competent and cunning and fought for the interest and welfare of the general student populace. Today, where are the NUGs, USAG, TTAG, the SRCs, GNUPs, TUSAGs and the likes? Indeed gone are the days where student leadership meant politics; student activism. When student leaders meant well for their members. Where struggles and toils were exchanged for prizes and awards, not cash and cheques and visa or master cards. Yesterday was bright. Today ought to be brighter and tomorrow must be the brightest. Calm your nerves down, never be perturbed we are here to fight for you.  "Good name is better than riches". I prefer learning how to fish to fishing for. We fish for fish. The ultimate prize one is paid for is incumbent on the service he or she renders. We should learn to serve rat...

SARBANDANLS RESIDENTIAL BROUHAHA A LITMUS TEST ON BOAKYE-LINCOLN ADMINISTRATION

The recent publication by the University of Ghana Management about the transfer of Male continuing students of the two noble traditional halls; Mensh Sarbah and Common Wealth Halls from their legal accommodations or beds is an experiment on the fresh administration of the University of Ghana Students' Representative Council. It is, however, imperative for the UGSRC to petition management to intercede on behalf of the affected male students of Mensah Sarbah and Commonwealth halls to stop this unfair treatment which is casting a doubt on their rights if indeed the Boakye-Lincoln led governance is for the interest of students, but not, the purported selfie government of the University of Ghana 🇬🇭 student leadership Aki Ola Aziz, former Special Envoy to the Office of the 64th SRC President is making a clarion call for Boakye -Lincoln administration to intervene on behalf of students to remedy this situation and champion the interest of the general student population. source: Wh...
