Meet Douglas Effah: The Next CHISAG Vice President

Leadership is about service and not lordship n over your subjects. That is the principle that Mr Effah Douglas believes in. He is of the strongest conviction that leadership is about service but not lordship and servitude.

The gentleman is someone we can vouch for when it comes to occupying any student's office. He has climbed the higher ladder when it comes to student leadership. He is prominent, renowned, and first among equals who rally behind his followers to reach a higher height. He has been limelight among the shakers and movers of his class.

Douglas Effah as he is popularly known attended the University Staff Junior High School where he was elected as the class prefect around. He furthered his education at Okuapeman Senior High School and was elected the Senior Boys Perfect and consequently the Students' Representative Council President (SRC). In this noble institution, he is the course representative and was a substantive member of the media and publicity committee at level 100, and he is the head of Organizing and Planning Committee.

One may ask, why Douglas has attained these academic laurels and proven beyond all reasonable doubt that has the competence to lead the student front? He is the next Vice President of the Chinese Students Association, absolutely no doubt about that. Owing to his versatility and dynamism, we recommend him for this amiable position.

We cannot discount the fact that his input has resulted in shaping or moulding the thoughts and behaviour of his colleagues. His sense of humour and comprehension of issues made him be on top of his class.

The clarion call to duty to serve his department cannot be compromised. He is counting on your support, guidance, direction and cooperation for him to serve on your behalf. Loyalty and hard work he believes rewards.

#A clarion call to duty.

They are extremely grateful and proud of you. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that, numerous others; including myself had fulfilled our obligations or responsibilities as National Service Personnel, and we look forward to be engaged in order to contribute our quotas to nation building and development. You are one of the few Chief Executive Officers who understands the importance of deployment of the youth in public service, that is in line with the core vision of John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress. I urge you to consider most of our grassroots who are frustrated and stranded as a result of consequential unemployment issu...

67 Years Of Independence: The State Of Ghana's Economy

It is quite imperative to note that after 67 years of independence from the shackles of colonial rule, the state of Ghana's economy has been tattered beyond repair.  Seven at the International Monetary Fund for financial stability and the World Bank for budget support. One may question the country's membership to the IMF and the WB so entitled to the loans, grants, and aid from the Bretton Woods Institution. The issue about that is the indiscriminate application from the Fund and the Bank since the attainment of independence and statehood. Most of the time our request for funds comes when all financial and fiscal indications show that we do not qualify for the fund. The Fund in turn imposes certain stringent measures to be complied with about fiscal policies, and taxation for us to meet the requirement and qualify for the funds. We are very much aware of the issues of GETFUND, ESLA, and E-LEVY as collateral to meet the financial obligation, not forgetting the controversial Deb...
